Kindergarten – 5th grade will meet in the Coolidge gym

Teachers and Aides

 

1:00 – 3:20                  Grade level articulation.  Every teacher is to bring a Four Blocks lesson plan to share with the other teachers.  Make 15 copies of your plan to hand out to the other teachers.  This is a share-n-take afternoon.  Take one 10-minute break when needed. 

 

  *Elementary Special Education teachers will attend the most appropriate grade level meeting

 

 

Grades 6 – 8 Math teachers will meet in Memorial’s LRC

 

1:00 – 3:20                  Review and discuss the monthly math assessments. 

 

All other grades 6-8 teachers will meet at Memorial Multipurpose Room

 

1:00 – 2:10      Get together by subject areas:

·       Language arts and science teachers to discuss:  Student performance on writing prompts (if so implemented).  Bring an example of exemplary, average, and poor writing (no student names on examples).  Discuss the commonalities of exemplary, average and poor writing.  Are there any concepts that need re-teaching?

·       Social Studies and block subjects to discuss:  Finalize writing prompts for the second nine weeks.  Turn in prompts to Rob.

2:10-2:20        Break

2:20 – 3:20      Each subject area grouping of teachers to discuss:

·       How can “WE” help improve student reading for all students (review 2004 ISATs)

·       It has been stated that “All teachers should be teachers of reading”.  Do you agree with that statement/philosophy?  Why or Why not.  What are your ideas for improving student reading?  Please document your findings in writing and turn them into Rob.

 

Early childhood and social workers will meet at Crawl conference room

 

1:00 – 3:20      Revamp/rewrite screening forms, turn in revised copies to D. Lambeth and D. Russert.

 

 

* Health aides, library/media staff, occupational therapists, & psychologist to work in their areas.

**  Speech specialists to work on assessments and/or services as assigned by Deborah Lambeth.
