All K-5 Teachers and Instructional Aids will report to Coolidge (Bring vendor catalogs, answers to the questions below, and completed surveys (attached) to this inservice)

 

1:00 – 1:05        Opening – New gymnasium Dawn Russert

Today’s goals are to: (1) review implementation of the Four Blocks/Building Blocks this far; (2) plan for implementation for the next two to three months; and (3) discuss the selection of classroom sets of multileveled readers for grades K-4.

 

1:05 – 1:35        Review implementation of the Four Blocks/Building Blocks.  Bring your answers to the following

questions (with examples) to this inservice.

·        What activities have you tried thus far (list as many as possible and then hang your list on the wall)?

·        What has worked?

·        How much time are you able to spend on each of the blocks each day?

·        What words are up on your word walls as of today (not applicable to Kindergarten)?

·        Tally individual responses for the four “Teacher Self-Evaluation Forms” and hang the totaled tallies on the wall.

·        What are your goals for the upcoming two months (list and hang on the wall)?

 

1:35 – 1:45        Get up and review the posters hung by the other grade levels / BREAK

 

1:45 – 2:15        Planning for continued implementation of the Four Blocks for the upcoming two months

(please come prepared to share):

1.      What multi-leveled readers (shared reading materials) are you planning to use?

2.      List the goals your grade develops as a result of your implementation review earlier today (hang them on the wall when done).

 

2:15-2:20          Review goals of other grade levels

 

2:20-3:20          Grade levels to identify classroom sets of multileveled readers (big books/shared books for

                        Kindergarten) for their classrooms.

                        Each teacher must turn in their list to Dawn Russert.

 

 

Elementary School Exceptions:

1:05 – 2:20

LRC Directors meeting at Coolidge  (LRC clerks work in their libraries).

1:05 – 3:20

Nurse to meet with health clerks.

1:05 – 3:20

Elementary Fine arts and PE staff will meet to articulate their curriculum.

 

All 6-8 Teachers will report to Memorial

 

Departmental Meetings at Crawl

Social workers, Psychologist, Speech pathologists, Occupational therapists will hold a departmental meeting.

SESSION 1

 

1:00 – 1:20        Opening – Multipurpose Room – Rob Zimbelman

Today’s goals are to: (1) think about study groups as you hear the math study group presentation (2) receive training on United Streaming on a rotating basis; and (3) meet by department for “Eclass”, SAT, and Explore preparation on a rotating basis.

 

1:20 – 1:30        Move to designated areas for Session 2/Break.

 

SESSION 2

 

1:30 – 2:20        ALL math, social studies, PE, and special education teachers to report to the computer lab for

United Streaming training with David Lesak (demonstration, creation of login id’s and

passwords, hands-on searching for resources to be used for instruction).

 

1:30 – 2:20        All other teachers will report by subject areas to discuss Eclass, SAT, and Explore preparations.

 

2:20 - 2:30        Move to designated areas for Session 3/Break.

 

SESSION 3

 

2:30 – 3:20        ALL science, language arts, and block teachers to report to the computer lab for United Streaming

                        training with David Lesak (demonstration, creation of login id’s and passwords, hands-on

                        searching for resources to be used for instruction).

 

2:30 – 3:20        All other teachers will report by subject areas to discuss Eclass, SAT, and Explore preparations.

 

3:20                  Dismissal
