Lansing School District 158

District 158 has received the Property Tax Relief Grant from the Illinois State Board of Education again for another two-year cycle through 2025! We will have abated over $15 million in property taxes back to the Lansing community during this time. #158Strong

Today a STAY INSIDE safety protocol was implemented at all of our schools in response to heavy police presence near Reavis Elementary School. This procedure has been lifted as the police vacated the area; however, students will remain indoors the rest of the school day as a precaution. Dismissals will proceed as normal with administrative and police presence (uniformed and/or undercover) at our buildings.

Please be reminded that all students have a noon dismissal tomorrow (Wednesday, January 31) for school improvement. Our offices will close at 12:30 PM in order for all staff to participate. You are welcome to contact the office of your child's school with any questions.

Lansing 2024 Spring Registration - Little League, Softball, and Volleyball

Lansing School District 158's buildings will reopen tomorrow (Wednesday, January 17) and in-person school, extracurricular activities, and athletics will resume for all students. Please dress warmly and contact your child's school with any questions

Due to anticipated inclement weather, District 158 will be implementing another Emergency E-Learning Day tomorrow (Tuesday, January 16). Students will participate in remote learning from home and all school buildings will be closed. Athletics and extracurricular activities are cancelled. Staff will be available remotely and this day will not need to be made-up at the end of the school year.

During Winter Break, our District Office will be closed due to construction at Lester Crawl Primary Center. The old building will not have any power on December 26-28, 2023. District Office staff will be available remotely during this time. Thank you for your patience as the construction continues. We wish all of our stakeholders an enjoyable holiday season.

Batteries for Tots collected almost 2,000 batteries for donation, including 902 at Memorial and 711 at Reavis! Congratulations to our Buildings & Grounds Department for receiving a sixth consecutive perfect score on our annual Health/Life Safety Inspection - an unprecedented achievement in the region - from the South Cook Intermediate Service Center!
