
District 158's Regular Board of Education Meeting planned for tonight (March 20, 2024) is being cancelled due to the absence of school board members. This meeting will be rescheduled for Wednesday, March 27, 2024, 6:00 PM at the District Administration Center, 18300 Greenbay Avenue, Lansing, IL 60438. A new agenda will be published before the rescheduled meeting.


All of our schools are closed tomorrow (Tuesday, March 19) for Election Day and students will not be in session. We hope our stakeholders will take an opportunity to vote in the General Primary Election. The District Office will be open tomorrow and students return to school on Wednesday, March 20.

Dr. Gloria McDaniel-Hall visited the first-grade classrooms of Mrs. Fies, Mrs. Wolterink, and Mrs. Fitch at Coolidge and discussed her book, “Gloria Finds Her Voice.” The students learned about kindness and compassion through the author's journey as one of the first students to integrate into a school in Galveston, Texas. #CoolidgeCares

Congratulations to Memorial's Associate Principal Mrs. Foster for being selected as the new Principal of Coolidge Elementary School starting July 1, 2024! She attended Coolidge's Black History Wax Museum with Mrs. Hodgson last week. #CoolidgeCares


Today a STAY INSIDE safety protocol was implemented at all of our schools in response to heavy police presence near Reavis Elementary School. This procedure has been lifted as the police vacated the area; however, students will remain indoors the rest of the school day as a precaution. Dismissals will proceed as normal with administrative and police presence (uniformed and/or undercover) at our buildings.


Lansing School District 158's buildings will reopen tomorrow (Wednesday, January 17) and in-person school, extracurricular activities, and athletics will resume for all students. Please dress warmly and contact your child's school with any questions

Students will participate in remote learning from home and all school buildings will be closed. Athletics and extracurricular activities are cancelled. Staff will be available remotely and this day will not need to be made-up at the end of the school year.

Coolidge's Fourth Grade Team received donations to purchase a stuffed Grinch and a book for every fourth grader! Students were excited to receive their gifts right before break. Happy Holidays! #CoolidgeCares


Batteries for Tots collected almost 2,000 batteries for donation, including 902 at Memorial and 711 at Reavis!
